We report the first observation of chi(c2) production in B meson decays. We find an inclusive B-->chi(c2)X branching fraction of (1.80(+0.23)(-0.28)+/-0.26) x 10(-3). The data set, collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider, consists of 31.9 x 10(6) BB events. We also present branching fractions and momentum spectra for both chi(c1) and chi(c2) production.

The study of loading mode with in-vitro fatigue testing for mitral annuloplasty ring.

J Biomech

March 2024

Key Laboratory of Biomechanics and Mechanobiology (Beihang University), Ministry of Education, Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Biomedical Engineering, School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, Beihang University, Beijing 100083, China. Electronic address:

To maintain the physiological dynamics of the mitral annulus, mitral annuloplasty rings (MAR) must be flexible. Enhanced flexibility implies decreased resistance to fatigue and potential for fatigue fracture. This study established new methods to test the flexible fatigue life of MAR in-vitro using numerical analysis; the purpose is that the fatigue test could reflect the real stress distribution in-vivo.

Intron polymorphisms of MAGI-1 and ACSF2 and effects on their expression in different goose breeds.

Gene

June 2019

Key Laboratory of Animal Genetics and Breeding and Molecular Design of Jiangsu Province, College of Animal Science and Technology, Yangzhou University, Yangzhou, Jiangsu, China. Electronic address:

The goose is one of the most important waterfowl, having lowing laying rate. Previous studies have shown the SNPs in the introns of MAGI-1 (Record-106975) and ACSF2 (Record-106582) significantly associated with egg production in geese. However, the mechanism of those SNPs influencing egg production remains unclear.

A global analysis of ATLAS and CMS measurements reveals that, at mid-rapidity, the directly-produced , and J/ mesons have differential cross sections of seemingly identical shapes, when presented as a function of the mass-rescaled transverse momentum, . This identity of kinematic behaviours among S- and P-wave quarkonia is certainly not a natural expectation of non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD), where each quarkonium state is supposed to reflect a specific family of elementary production processes, of significantly different -differential cross sections. Remarkably, accurate kinematic cancellations among the various NRQCD terms (colour singlets and octets) of its factorization expansion can lead to a surprisingly good description of the data.

Study of charmonium production in -hadron decays and first evidence for the decay .

Eur Phys J C Part Fields

September 2017

15Sezione INFN di Bologna, Bologna, Italy.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examines charmonium states produced from decays of B-hadrons using collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at 7 and 8 TeV energies.
  • It determines branching fractions for specific decays, establishes upper limits for certain charmonium states, and measures differential cross-sections related to their transverse momentum.
  • The research also reports a first-time measurement of the branching fraction for a specific decay and finds no evidence for intermediate resonances, with observed preferential transverse polarization of the produced charmonium states.

Polarizations of χc1 and χc2 in prompt production at the LHC.

Prompt χc production at hadron colliders may provide a unique test for the color-octet mechanism in nonrelativistic QCD. We present an analysis for the polarization observables of χc1 and χc2 at next-to-leading order in αS and propose to measure them at the LHC, which is expected to be important for testing the validity of nonrelativistic QCD.
