Rationale And Objectives: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common pathogenesis of dementia, and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is considered as the intermediate stage from normal elderly to AD. Early detection of MCI is an essential step for the timely intervention of AD to slow the progression of this disease. Different form previous studies in the whole-brain spontaneous activities, this research aimed to explore the low-frequency amplitude spectrum activities of patients with MCI within the default mode network (DMN), which has been involved in the process of maintaining normal cognitive function.

In the past few years, three protein molecules-USP53, NPY2R, and DCTN1-AS1-have garnered significant attention in scientific research due to their potential implications in tumor development. Mass spectrometry and proteomics techniques were used to analyze the three-dimensional structure of these protein molecules and predict their active sites and functional domains. The effects of USP53, NPY2R and DCTN1-AS1 on biological behavior of tumor cells were studied by constructing gene knockout and overexpression cell models.

ACUTE HYPERGLYCEMIA INDUCES PODOCYTE APOPTOSIS BY MONOCYTE TNF-α RELEASE, A PROCESS ATTENUATED BY VITAMIN D AND GLP-1 RECEPTOR AGONISTS.

Targeting optimal glycemic control based on hemoglobin A1c (A1c) values reduces but does not abolish the onset of diabetic kidney disease and its progression to chronic kidney disease (CKD). This suggests that factors other than the average glucose contribute to the residual risk. Vitamin D deficiency and frequent episodes of acute hyperglycemia (AH) are associated with the onset of albuminuria and CKD progression in diabetes.

January 2025

University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research, University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada. Electronic address:

Aim: Major depressive disorder (MDD) is characterized by altered activity in various higher-order regions like the anterior cingulate and prefrontal cortex. While some findings also show changes in lower-order sensory regions like the occipital cortex in MDD, the latter's exact neural and temporal, e.g.

January 2025

Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Henan Provincial Clinical Research Center for Kidney Disease, Henan Key Laboratory of Nephrology and Immunology, Zhengzhou 450003, Henan, China. Electronic address:

Objective: The study aimed to investigate the impact of varying thyroid function statuses on clinical and laboratory indicators in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 258 patients with SLE, who were stratified according to thyroid function, renal involvement, and disease activity. The predictive value of thyroid hormones was evaluated using a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve.
