On the basis of personal experience in the People's Republic of China, Chinese Psychiatry and acupuncture are reviewed. The application technique is described and the syndromes in which it is most indicated discussed. Its association with psychodrugs is also considered.

Background: Ankle and hindfoot fusion in the presence of large bony defects represents a challenging problem. The purpose of this study was to evaluate outcomes of patients who underwent ankle-hindfoot fusions with impaction bone grafting (IBG) with morselized femoral head allograft to fill large bony void defects.
Methods: This was a 3-center, retrospective review of a consecutive series of 49 patients undergoing ankle or hindfoot fusions with femoral head IBG for filling large bony defects.

Supramalleolar osteotomy (SMO) aims to correct extra-articular deformities of the distal lower leg. There are several indications, the most common being varus osteoarthritis of the ankle. The rationale in this indication is to modify talocrural stress and pressure distribution by reorienting the limb axis.

Recent advances in surgical techniques and planning for knee-based osteotomies have led to improvements in addressing lower extremity malalignment. Part 1 of this review presented the biomechanical and clinical rationale of osteotomies, emphasizing the importance of osteotomies for restoring normal knee kinematics. In Part 2 of this review, indications, surgical technique and outcomes of osteotomies to correct coronal, sagittal and axial plane deformities will be examined.
