In patients with lung cancer of the lower lobes and liver cancer, treatment volume including respiratory motion is an important therapeutic problem. We developed a voluntary breath-hold system using pictures and voice messages so as to reduce the excessive safety margin that covers respiratory motion. The system consists of two sets of monitor and speaker, and a computer and software for control without direct connection to a linear accelerator. When the patient repeatedly holds his or her breath in response to a picture and voice message, irradiation is manually performed and then proceeds intermittently. Although safety problems remain to be solved because of off-line, synchronized irradiation with our system is simple, inexpensive, and could be widely used. It also would be expected to reduce the tumor target volume around the diaphragm.

Switching the target gender or location has resulted in a performance 'switch cost' - which was recently shown to reduce with preparation when a gender cue was presented in advance. The current study asks if preparation for a switch is also effective when a voice is selected by location.

Unlabelled: COSMOS-France is the French part of the COSMOS project, an international prospective cohort study that investigates whether the use of mobile phones and other wireless technologies is associated with health effects and symptoms (cancers, cardiovascular diseases, neurologic pathologies, tinnitus, headaches, or sleep and mood disturbances). Here, we provide the first descriptive results of COSMOS-France, a cohort nested in the general population-based cohort of adults named Constances.
Methods: A total of 39,284 Constances volunteers were invited to participate in the COSMOS-France study during the pilot (2017) and main recruitment phase (2019).

Objectives: To report the development and administration of the Saudi pediatric speech intelligibility (SPSI) test.
Methods: This study was carried out at King Abdullah Ear Specialist Center, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between 2021 and 2023. A pilot study was carried out in 5 regions of Saudi Arabia including 100 normal hearing children aged 7-11 years old, with 20 children from each region.
