Pelvic surgery for malignant disease has been associated with numerous acute postoperative complications. These complications are primarily vascular or neurologic in origin. Several factors associated with the occurrence of these complications include the lithotomy position, the prolonged use of sequential compression devices, the use of certain types of stirrups, the presence of peripheral vascular disease, and the common hypercoagulable state of most cancer patients. We report for the first time a case of aortic thrombosis after elective low anterior resection for rectal cancer and discuss some factors that may have a role in the occurrence of this devastating complication.

Background: Subclinical leaflet thrombosis (SLT) is a common complication after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Multidimensional CT (MDCT) is the main imaging mortality for the diagnosis of SLT but it enhances the risk of contrast-induced nephropathy. Our study aimed to use an innovative wearable acoustic cardiography (ACG) device to diagnose SLT as an alternative option.

Case Presentation: An 89-year-old male who had been holding dabigatran in the setting of transcarotid artery revascularization presented to the emergency department with sudden onset leg pain and weakness. Computed tomography angiography revealed acute aortic occlusion and thrombosis of the bilateral common iliac arteries. He underwent aortoiliac and femoral embolectomies and stenting of the bilateral common iliac arteries and returned to his baseline functional status.

Aortic coarctation represents up to 7% of congenital heart diseases and is associated with hypertension and coronary artery disease, which continues to be the leading cause of death even after successful surgical repair. However, there is limited knowledge of managing both conditions, especially in the setting of an acute coronary syndrome. We herein present the case of a 53-year-old man with a history of hypertension who initially presented with an ST-elevation myocardial infarction successfully treated with thrombolysis and hemodynamic compromise.

Background: Endovascular intervention by means of thrombolysis is emerging as a promising management of Acute Aortic Occlusion (AAO). This study aims to evaluate the outcomes of endovascular thrombectomy for AAO cases in a single-center tertiary hospital in Indonesia.
Methods: We review retrospectively AAO patients treated by Rheolytic thrombectomy ± stenting or TEVAR at our referral center from 2011 to 2024.
