Two new diterpenes were isolated from Juniperus przewalskii, together with 17 known terpense. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods (IR, MS, 1H, 13C and 2DNMR). In addition, 3 alpha-hinokiol (3) and 3 alpha-hydroxymannol (9) exhibited effective antitumor activities to cervical carcinoma (HeLa) and human ovarian carcinoma (HO-8910) cell lines.

Evidence shows that biotic and abiotic factors have apparent diversity at different forest ages, leading to changes in rhizosphere microbiomes. However, the difference in diversity, co-occurrence pattern, and assembly of the rhizosphere microbial community among the different forest ages is still unclear. A total of 24 rhizosphere soil samples were selected from four representative age classes, using diameter at breast height (DBH) as a proxy for tree age (age class I: 5 < DBH ≤ 12.

Species of Gymnosporangium are major pathogenic rust fungi causing diseases and significant economic losses of plants in the Cupressaceae and Rosaceae family (Kern 1973). During our investigation of rust fungi in Qinghai Province, northwestern China, we found the spermogonial and aecial stages of Gymnosporangium species on Cotoneaster acutifolius. C.

Assessing the influence of these variables on radial growth can help to reveal the relationships between tree growth and the environment. Here, we used standard dendrochronological approach to explore the response of radial growth to climate factors.

To study the responses of radial growth of to climate factors of the different periods (pre-growing season (February-April), growing season (May-July)), and the vulnerability (resistance, ; recovery, ) of to different drought events (precipitation, temperature and the both caused), we used tree ring width data of from 17 sampling sites across the northeastern Tibetan Plateau to analyze the correlation between radial growth and climate factors of different periods, and the vulnerability in different drought events. The results showed that radial growth of had significant positive correlation with drought index and negative correlation with temperature in the growing season (<0.1).
