Published: June 2002

A study of the linear response susceptibility of a noisy bistable oscillator as a function of damping is carried out using the method of moments. It is found that this dependence, counterintuitively, has a nonmonotonic character and shows a maximum when the driving frequency is comparable to the thermal interwell hopping rate. The possible mechanism responsible for the occurrence of such dissipative sensitivity enhancement is proposed.

This study investigates a comprehensive enhancement strategy for photovoltaic (PV) panel efficiency, focusing on increasing electrical output through the integration of parabolic reflectors, advanced cooling mechanisms, and thermoelectric generation. Parabolic reflectors are implemented in the system to maximize solar irradiance on the PV panel's surface, while a specialized cooling system is introduced to regulate temperature distribution across the silicon layer. This cooling system consists of a finned duct filled with paraffin (RT35HC) and enhanced with SWCNT nanoparticles, which improve the thermal properties of the paraffin, facilitating more effective heat dissipation.

Covalent Adaptable Poly[2]rotaxane Networks via Dynamic C-N Bond Transalkylation.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

Shanghai Jiao Tong University, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 800 Dongchuan Road, 200240, Shanghai, CHINA.

Covalent adaptable networks (CANs), a novel class of crosslinked polymers with dynamic covalent bonds, have gained significant attention for combining the durability of thermosets with the reprocessability of thermoplastics, making them promising for emerging applications. Here, we report the first example of poly[2]rotaxane-type CANs (PRCANs), in which oligo[2]rotaxane backbones characterized by densely packed mechanical bonds, are cross-linked through dynamic C-N bond. Oligo[2]rotaxane backbones could guarantee the mechanical properties of CANs.

Supramolecular transparent plastic engineering covalent-and-supramolecular polymerization.

Mater Horiz

January 2025

College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Hunan University, Hunan 410082, P. R. China.

Supramolecular glass and plastic are a new generation of artificial transparent materials that exhibit excellent optical behavior and processability. However, owing to inherent deficiencies in their mechanical toughness and long-term stability, supramolecular materials lack the potential for functionalization and application. Inspired by the toughening phenomena in biological systems, a synergistic covalent-and-supramolecular polymerization strategy was applied to construct plastic-like supramolecular materials with high transmittance the solvent-free one-pot amidation of thioctic acid and (poly)amines.

Neuromorphic engineering has emerged as a promising avenue for developing brain-inspired computational systems. However, conventional electronic AI-based processors often encounter challenges related to processing speed and thermal dissipation. As an alternative, optical implementations of such processors have been proposed, capitalizing on the intrinsic information-processing capabilities of light.

In this work, a novel deep trench CSTBT (DT-CSTBT) features emitter trench and the P-layer is proposed and investigated by simulation. The self-biased pMOS, comprising an emitter trench, N-CS layer, P-layer, and P-well, demonstrates an excellent clamping effect potential. The proposed DT-CSTBT suppresses the saturation current and improves the heat dissipation, resulting in a 23.
