Soil salinization is becoming a great threat that reduces crop productivity worldwide. In this study, we found that rice allantoate amidohydrolase (OsAAH) expression was significantly upregulated by salt stress, and its overexpression conferred salt tolerance at the seedling stage. Compared to wild type (WT), the contents of ureides (allantoin and allantoate) were significantly increased in Osaah mutants and reduced in OsAAH overexpression lines both before and after salt treatments.

Rosmarinic acid is a well-known natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound, and it is one of the polyphenolic compounds found in comfrey plants. Comfrey root also contains allantoin, which helps with new skin regeneration. This study aimed to investigate the healing and skin regeneration process of skin wounds in Wistar rats using creams based on comfrey extract and to correlate the results with active compounds in the extract.

Although two-dimensional (2D) materials with ultrathin geometry and extraordinary electrical attributes have attracted substantial concern, exploiting new-type 2D materials is still a great challenge. In this work, an unprecedented single-layer pure polyoxometalate (POM) 2D material (2D-) was prepared by ultrasonically exfoliating a one-dimensional (1D)-chain heterometallic crystalline germanotungstate Na[Ho(HO)][Fe(HO)(pic)GeWO]·16HO () (Hpic = picolinic acid). The 1D polymeric chain of is assembled from particular {GeW}-based [Fe(HO)(pic)GeWO] segments through bridging [Ho(HO)] cations.
