A brief overview of major methods used for genome-wide expression profiling is presented. Special attention is devoted to ordered differential display, subtractive hybridization and DNA microarrays. Future prospects of comparative gene expression studies using combinations of differential display methods and microarray technology are outlined.

The expansion of single-cell analytical techniques has empowered the exploration of diverse biological questions at the individual cells. Droplet-based single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) methods have been particularly widely used due to their high-throughput capabilities and small reaction volumes. While commercial systems have contributed to the widespread adoption of droplet-based scRNA-seq, their relatively high cost limits the ability to profile large numbers of cells and samples.

Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a fatal disease, and radioresistance is an important factor leading to treatment failure and disease progression. The objective of this research was to detect radioresistance-related genes (RRRGs) with prognostic value in NSCLC.
Methods: The weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WGCNA) and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) analysis were performed to identify RRRGs using expression profiles from TCGA and GEO databases.

Purpose: To identify molecular changes during PCa invasion of adipose space using Spatial Transcriptomic Profiling of PCa cells.
Methods: This study was performed on paired intraprostatic and extraprostatic samples obtained from radical prostatectomy with pT3a pathological stages.
Results: Differential gene expression revealed upregulation of heat shock protein genes: DNAJB1, HSPA8, HSP90AA1, HSPA1B, HSPA1A in PCa PanCK+ cells from the adipose periprostatic space.

Background/objectives: Polyphenols represent a new strategy of dietary intervention for heat stress regulation.
Methods: The metabolic and genetic effects of three heat stress-regulated mung bean polyphenols on mouse small intestinal epithelial Mode-k cells were investigated by metabolomics-transcriptomics correlation analysis at different heat stress levels.
Results: Lipid metabolism, energy metabolism, and nervous system pathways were the key metabolic regulatory pathways.

In winemaking, malolactic fermentation (MLF), which converts L-malic acid to L-lactic acid, is often applied after the alcoholic fermentation stage to improve the sensory properties of the wine and its microbiological stability. MLF is usually performed by lactic acid bacteria, which, however, are sensitive to the conditions of alcoholic fermentation. Therefore, the development of wine yeast strains capable of both alcoholic fermentation and MLF is an important task.
