International nutrition will become increasingly concerned with evaluation of nutritional status at the community level to diagnose situations of risk for nutrient deficits and excesses, and to monitor the impact of remedial interventions. Advances in biologic concepts and technology (particularly miniaturization of assays) are assisting the creation of noninvasive, robust, and acceptable diagnostic tests of nutritional status for field settings. As with more complex and formal assays, the principles of accuracy, reliability, and construct validity need to be applied.

Objectives: The decennial National Surveys of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles (Natsal) provide general population prevalence estimates in Britain for key sexually transmitted infections (STIs) through biosampling. Since methodological choices can impact acceptability and response rates, we evaluated processes for Natsal-4, including face-to-face and remote interview arrangements, non-return of test results and vaginal swab collection in two pilot studies.
Methods: The pilots were conducted during June to August 2021 and February to March 2022.

Objective: To assess the acceptability and impacts of a co-designed health education model aiming to improve outcomes for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Design: Qualitative focus group study.
Setting: Six primary schools from metropolitan and rural settings in the state of Victoria, Australia.

Cyanobacterial blooms represent a significant environmental issue posing widespread threats to global aquatic ecological health. Climate and nutrient enrichment were the most studied factors modulating cyanobacterial blooms in eutrophic lakes. However, in many floodplain lakes, the importance of hydrological variation in driving and predicting cyanobacterial blooms is often overlooked and largely underestimated, which has hampered the effectiveness of lake management.

Quantitative structure retention relation (QSRR) is an active field of research, primarily focused on predicting chromatography retention time (Rt) based on molecular structures of an input analyte on a single or limited number of reversed-phase HPLC (RP-HPLC) columns. However, in the pharmaceutical chemistry manufacturing and controls (CMC) settings, single-column QSRR models are often insufficient. It is important to translate retention time across different HPLC methods, specifically different stationary phases (SP) and mobile phases (MP), to guide the HPLC method development, and to bridge organic impurity profiles across different development phases and laboratories.

Objective: The field of surgery is highly visual and technical. Yet, there is a paucity of data evaluating how a mandatory visual arts-based workshop may benefit surgical trainees. We report upon the feasibility of and short-term outcomes of a novel, visual art-based curriculum for surgery residents.
