The misuse of tetracycline in livestock farming leads to environmental residues that promote the proliferation of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), particularly tetracycline resistance (tet) genes. Black soldier fly (BSF) larvae, used for organic waste bioconversion, may carry tetracycline residues in their guts, raising concerns about ARG spread. To address this issue, plant-derived additives such as lavender essential oil (LEO) have been explored as alternative antibiotics.

Improving the photogenerated carrier separation efficiency of individual semiconductor materials has always been a key challenge in photocatalysis. In this study, we synthesized a novel photocatalytic material, N-CQDs/UBWO, in situ by combining nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (N-CQDs) derived from discarded corn stover with ultrathin BiWO nanosheets (UBWO). Detailed characterization indicates that the random distribution of N-CQDs on the UBWO surface increases the specific surface area of UBWO, which is beneficial for the adsorption and degradation of oxytetracycline (OTC).

Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is characterized by progressive photoreceptor cells death accelerated by the proliferation and activation of microglia pathologically. No consensus exists on the treatment. Minocycline is recognized as a microglia inhibitor with great anti-inflammatory and neuro-protective functions.

Background: Acne vulgaris is a common inflammatory skin condition affecting almost 85% of the adolescent and young adult population. The etiopathogenesis of this dermatosis involves an imbalance in the skin microbiome, leading to inflammation of both the skin and hair follicles.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to develop topical anti-acne formulations with increased therapeutic efficacy and reduced risk of developing antibiotic resistance.
