Digital picture-book (DPB) with animated elements can enhance children's engagement, but irrelevant animations may interfere with their comprehension. To determine the effect of the relevance of animated elements on preschoolers' comprehension, an experimental study was conducted. Thirtythree preschoolers between the aged 4-5 years engaged with DPB in three conditions: high- and lowrelevant animations and a static control while listening to the story; their eye movements were recorded simultaneously.

Background: Many non-communicable diseases are rooted in social factors that determine health outcomes. Bilingual children's language skills are strongly influenced by exposure to each of their languages, among other linguistic, environmental, and cognitive factors. In the speech and language therapy clinic, it is difficult to disentangle developmental language disorders from insufficient exposure. Dynamic assessment, which directly tests the learning potential of children, offers a promising solution for this dilemma.

In everyday life, when we have to formulate judgments, we often end up being influenced by information that is not directly related to the matter at hand. This happens both when we encounter the person in the real-life world, but also in the cyber-world, when for example, we use social networks. In both cases, indeed, based simply on a few images or short stories, we may start to believe fake news or judge someone by generalizing limited information to the overall judgment of that person/situation, as it happens in the halo effect.

Background: Pregnancy and early childhood cohorts provide a framework for investigating the complex interplay between early-life exposures and health outcomes, thereby informing prevention strategies and interventions to improve maternal and child health. In this paper, we outline the objectives, methodologies and expected contributions of INSIGHT-2, a comprehensive cohort study dedicated to advancing our understanding of pregnancy and pregnancy complications towards improving the health and well-being of mothers and their offspring.

Methods: Over the course of 5 years, the study aims to establish a diverse cohort of 1700 pregnant women and to follow up their children up to 2 years of age.
