So-called child neuropsychiatric disorders (ADHD/DAMP, autism spectrum disorders, Tourette's syndrome) are being recognized with increasing frequency in child and adolescent psychiatry. Through follow-up studies, case reports and autobiographical accounts it has become evident that these disorders often persist into adulthood, and the need for diagnostic evaluation of adults is increasing. The Neuropsychiatric Diagnostic Team for Adults in Lund, Sweden, was established in 1998 to meet this need. 228 adults, mostly 18-30 years old, have completed the diagnostic process, resulting in one of the above-mentioned diagnoses in 64%. 80 patients had ADHD/DAMP, 59 had autism spectrum disorders and 7 had Tourette's syndrome. The diagnostic process involves clinical interviews and observation, neuropsychological evaluation and, if possible, a parent interview. So far, the impact on quality of life of a child neuropsychiatric diagnosis received in adulthood is not known. Follow-up studies are needed.

Aim: Sydenham chorea (SC) is a globally significant, post-streptococcal, childhood neuropsychiatric condition that is rare in western Europe. This retrospective single-centre study focused on children with neuropsychiatric features of SC.
Methods: Participants were recruited from neuropsychiatry referrals to a regional paediatric neurology department in Glasgow, Scotland, from 2009 to 2012.

Purpose Of Review: Recent advancements in molecular biomarkers and therapeutic options for Alzheimer's disease have brought into focus the need for greater progress in the second most common cause of dementia, vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID). We examine how the study of monogenic causes of VCID has contributed to the understanding of its pathophysiology and potential biomarker and treatment research.
Recent Findings: It is widely accepted that conditions which disrupt the cerebral small vessels contribute to vascular pathologies including stroke and cerebral microbleeds, ultimately leading to vascular cognitive impairment and dementia.

Erdheim-Chester Disease is a rare systemic xanthogranulomatous infiltrating disease, characterized by lipid-laden histiocytes accumulating in various organs and almost always in bones. Etiology of the disease is still unknown. It may involve various organs and systems, such as musculoskeletal, cardiac, pulmonary, renal, gastrointestinal and central nervous system (CNS) as well as the skin.

Organoids-on-a-chip exhibit significant potential for advancing disease modeling, drug screening, and precision medicine, largely due to their capacity to facilitate interactions among organoids. However, the influence of chip design on these interactions remains poorly understood, primarily due to our limited knowledge of the mediators of communication and the complexity of interaction dynamics. This study demonstrates that analyzing albumin secretion from liver organoids within an organoids-on-a-chip system can provide a measure of the interaction intensity among organoids, offering valuable insights into how chip design influences these interactions.
