[Effectiveness of clinical treatment of survivors of torture].

Purpose: To research the clinical efficiency in the treatment of the torture survivors in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the therapeutic treatment.

Method: There are 51 clients with the experience of the war torture included in the multidisciplinary treatment. All the clients were questioned with SCL 90-R questionnaire at the beginning of the treatment. At the end of the treatment, 6 months later, all were retested with SCL 90-R. All clients received general medical treatment, psychological-psychiatric help included individual and group psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy.

Results: According to the results of t-test reduction of the psychopathological response after six months of the therapy is significant for the subscales of somatization p = 0.005, obsessive-compulsive symptoms p = 0.041, depression p = 0, anxiety p = 0, hostility p = 0.041.

Conclusion: According to the results of the research therapy of torture survivors must include multidisciplinary approach and combined treatment: medical, psychological and social; Results show high significance in reduction of psychopathological response after six months of combined treatment.
