Multi-tasking costs in triple-task performance despite dual-task preparation.

Mem Cognit

January 2025

Department of Human Sciences, Institute of Psychology, General Psychology, University of the Bundeswehr Munich, Werner-Heisenberg-Weg 39, 85577, Neubiberg, Germany.

This study explores multi-tasking by examining the effects of transitioning from dual-task to triple-task scenarios. Our research extends beyond conventional dual-task paradigms to investigate the impact of triple-task performance on two participant groups: those unprepared in single, dual, or triple tasks (N = 14) and those previously prepared in single and dual tasks (N = 13). The study consisted of a preparation phase with nine sessions and an assessment phase with eight sessions.

The escalating trend of inappropriate visits to Emergency Departments (ED) has led to significant concerns, including resource misallocation, compromised patient care, and an increased burden on healthcare workers. Portugal faces a notable challenge, reporting one of the highest ED visit rates, with an annual average of approximately 6 million ED visits from 2013 to 2023. In response, the "Call First, Save Lives" pilot project was launched by the Portuguese NHS Executive Board, in 2023, at the Local Health Unit (LHU) of Póvoa de Varzim/Vila do Conde.

SUPPRESSOR OF MAX2 1 (SMAX1) and SMAX1-LIKE (SMXL) proteins comprise a family of plant growth regulators that includes downstream targets of the karrikin (KAR)/KAI2 ligand (KL) and strigolactone (SL) signaling pathways. Following the perception of KAR/KL or SL signals by α/β hydrolases, some types of SMXL proteins are polyubiquitinated by an E3 ubiquitin ligase complex containing the F-box protein MORE AXILLARY GROWTH2 (MAX2)/DWARF3 (D3), and proteolyzed. Because SMXL proteins interact with TOPLESS (TPL) and TPL-related (TPR) transcriptional corepressors, SMXL degradation initiates changes in gene expression.

Transforming Cardiovascular Risk Prediction: A Review of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Innovations.

Life (Basel)

January 2025

Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, School of Physical Education, Sports and Dietetics, University of Thessaly, 42132 Trikala, Greece.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain a leading cause of global mortality and morbidity. Traditional risk prediction models, while foundational, often fail to capture the multifaceted nature of risk factors or leverage the expanding pool of healthcare data. Machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) approaches represent a paradigm shift in risk prediction, offering dynamic, scalable solutions that integrate diverse data types.

: Anaplastic oligodendrogliomas (AOs) are central nervous system (CNS) World Health Organization (WHO) grade 3 gliomas characterized by isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutation (m)IDH and 1p/19q codeletion. AOs are typically treated with surgery and chemoradiation. However, chemoradiation can cause detrimental late neurocognitive morbidities and an accelerated disease course.
