The development and characterization of quaternary phosphonium compounds (QPCs) have long benefitted from their incorporation into a cornerstone reaction in organic synthesis - the Wittig reaction. These structures have, more recently, been developed into a wide variety of novel applications, ranging from phase transfer catalysis to mitochondrial targeting. Importantly, their antimicrobial action has demonstrated great promise against a wide variety of bacteria.

Cross subject Electroencephalogram (EEG) emotion recognition refers to the process of utilizing electroencephalogram signals to recognize and classify emotions across different individuals. It tracks neural electrical patterns, and by analyzing these signals, it's possible to infer a person's emotional state. The objective of cross-subject recognition is to create models or algorithms that can reliably detect emotions in both the same person and several other people.

To advance off-grid energy solutions, developing flexible photobatteries capable of direct light charging is essential. This study presents an innovative photobattery architecture that incorporates zinc oxide (ZnO) as an electron-transporting and hole-blocking layer, combined with a hybrid methylammonium tin iodide composite with poly-triarylamine (MASnI/PTAA) for light absorption and hole transport. PTAA facilitates efficient hole transport to the anode, thereby enhancing charge separation and reducing recombination losses.

The miniaturization of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is pivotal in ultrahigh-resolution displays. Metal-halide perovskites promise efficient light emission, long-range carrier transport and scalable manufacturing for bright microscale LED (micro-LED) displays. However, thin-film perovskites with inhomogeneous spatial distribution of light emission and unstable surface under lithography are incompatible with the micro-LED devices.
