An unusual case of sliding inguinal hernia complicated by stercoral appendicular fistula as a result of acute appendicitis was reported in a 3-month-old boy. A diagnosis was made using barium enema. Elective appendectomy and narrowing of the internal ring using a purse-string suture were carried out safely via a right transverse infraumblical incision. Postoperative follow-up was uneventful.

Article Synopsis
  • * Diagnosis is based on recognizing specific characteristics of the lesions and the chronic nature of the disease, without the need for definitive biological tests or biopsies.
  • * Treatment options depend on the disease's severity and can involve antibiotics, hormonal therapies, and surgery, with imaging techniques like high-frequency ultrasound being essential for accurate assessment and monitoring of the condition.

Background: Fat grafts are widely used in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. Their unpredictable resorption is their main disadvantage. A review of the literature shows that there is a lack of research on the effect of mobile and immobile regions on fat graft survival in fat graft applications.

Background: Triple combined hernias are rare surgical presentations where three different tissues protrude through abdominal wall weaknesses. Amyand's hernia involves appendix entrapment within an inguinal hernia, while Richter's hernia entraps bowel circumference in the sac. The combination of sliding bladder hernia, Amyand's, and Richter's hernia has not been documented in medical literature, making preoperative diagnosis challenging.

Ewing sarcoma is an uncommon neoplasm considered in the differential diagnosis of tumors with "small round cell" morphology, but its occurrence in the gynecologic tract has only been sporadically documented. Herein, we describe the largest cohort of Ewing sarcoma localized to the female genital tract to date, and emphasize their clinicopathologic resemblance to more common gynecologic neoplasms. Ewing sarcoma (n=21) was retrospectively identified from 5 institutions.

Amyand's hernia (AH) occurs when the appendix becomes part of an inguinal hernia. Amyand's hernias are typically discovered incidentally during surgery due to their variable clinical manifestations and features, such as caecum and appendix forming the sliding component in the present case. Claudius Amyand operated it for the first time in 1735.
