Improving industrial ecology efficiency (IEE) is the key path to achieve green economic development. This paper calculates IEE of 273 Chinese cities a super slacks-based measurement (Super-SBM) model and examines the impact of environmental protection tax reform (EPTR) on IEE by the difference-in-difference (DID) model. The results show that the effect of EPTR on IEE is significantly positive.

Despite welfare state expansion in liberal democracies during the 20th century, health inequalities between socio-economic groups persist. Understanding individuals' lived experiences can inform policy for reducing unequal health outcomes in these lives. We build on Fundamental Cause Theory (FCT), which posits that low socio-economic status is the fundamental cause of health problems in (later) life.

Objective: Recent scientific breakthroughs have propelled the development of disease-modifying and potentially curative cell and gene therapies (CGTs) for rare diseases, including those diseases previously considered untreatable. However, the unique characteristics of CGTs pose challenges for the traditional methods of therapy value determination, reimbursement, and outcome evaluation used by regulatory and assessment agencies for product approval and market access. Notably, CGTs are one-time or short-course treatments, often first-in-class (precluding direct comparisons with effective alternatives), and have health benefits that are largely realized over time.
