Decisions about ethnic groups studied in health research shape recommendations. If a group is not included in research, its ability to call for policy change is limited. Despite health inequalities for the Irish in Britain in the 20th century, recent research on health is likely to combine the White Irish with White British, whereas Irish people of colour are not mentioned at all.

Objectives: This study explores the perspectives of Irish Travellers, an ethnic minority group in Ireland, on the service improvements needed to implement culturally appropriate recovery approaches in mental health services.
Methods: A community-based participatory research approach was employed. Seventeen Traveller peer researchers conducted thirteen qualitative participatory workshops and five individual interviews across Ireland.

Introduction: The travelling community in England and Scotland may consist of between 150,000 and 500,000 members. In Scotland ethnicity codings for hospital admissions includes: Gypsies, Roma, Irish travellers and show people. Few Trusts in England break down codings for "Other British" in such detail.

Macro-scale distribution of air pollution concentrations is influenced by factors including geography, weather, industry, transport and regulation. Pollution sources are unevenly distributed, with some communities disproportionately impacted by higher emissions. This study separates the effects of deprivation from ethnicity as factors that influence proximity to pollution sources.
