Stand and deliver: the art of speaking in public.

Anyone who took Latin in high school learned that many English words are derived from Latin roots. One such word is auditorium. It comes from the Latin words audio, which means "to hear," and taurus, which means "the bull." Therefore, an auditorium is a place where people go to hear the bull. This article is written to change that. It is written to end the bull. Carmen Mariano has spoken before audiences in seven states and five countries. He has a master's degree from Harvard University and a doctorate from Boston College. Neither degree has cured Carmen of his Boston accent, but both have taught him something about the power of the spoken word. Carmen shares that knowledge, and that power, in this article. And that is no bull.

Low-temperature direct ammonia fuel cell (DAFC) stands out as a more secure technology than the hydrogen fuel cell system, while there is still a lack of elegant bottom-up synthesis procedures for efficient ammonia oxidation reaction (AOR) electrocatalysts. The widely accepted d-band center, even with consideration of the d-band width, usually fails to describe variations in AOR reactivity in many practical conditions, and a more accurate activity descriptor is necessary for a less empirical synthesis path. Herein, the upper d-band edge, ε, derived from the d-band model, is identified as an effective descriptor for accurately establishing the descriptor-activity relationship.

United Nations is standing for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 sets the agenda to address worldwide inequality in accessing safe water and improved sanitation facilities for all by 2030. However, governments in Africa seem unable to address the issue water and of sanitation facilities, since there are problems like increasing costs of sustaining existing water sources and the requirement to deliver new facilities ahead of time. Hence, this study aimed to investigate unimproved water sources and sanitation facilities geographical variation in Ethiopia using EDHS 2019 datasets.

Oriented wide-bandgap perovskites for monolithic silicon-based tandems with over 1000 hours operational stability.

State Key Laboratory of Silicon and Advanced Semiconductor Materials, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China.

The instability of hybrid wide-bandgap (WBG) perovskite materials (with bandgap larger than 1.68 eV) still stands out as a major constraint for the commercialization of perovskite/silicon tandem photovoltaics, yet its correlation with the facet properties of WBG perovskites has not been revealed. Herein, we combine experiments and theoretical calculations to comprehensively understand the facet-dependent instability of WBG perovskites.

Background: Anxiety disorders are common in alcohol use disorder (AUD) treatment patients. Such co-occurring conditions ("comorbidity") have negative prognostic implications for AUD treatment outcomes, yet they commonly go unaddressed in standard AUD care. Over a decade ago, we developed and validated a cognitive behavioral therapy intervention to supplement standard AUD care that, when delivered by trained therapists, improves outcomes in comorbid patients.

Bio-microfluidic technologies offer promising applications in diagnostics and therapy, yet they face significant technical challenges, particularly in the need for external power sources, which limits their practicality and user-friendliness. Recent advancements have explored innovative methods utilizing body fluids, motion, and heat to power these devices, addressing the power supply issue effectively. Among these, body-motion and body-heat-powered systems stand out for their potential to create self-sustaining, wearable, and implantable devices.
