Navigating Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Manuscript Writing: Tips and Traps.

Indian J Radiol Imaging

January 2025

Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India.

It is being increasingly recognized that the strategic use of artificial intelligence (AI) can catalyze the process of manuscript writing. However, it is imperative that we recognize the hidden biases, pitfalls, and disadvantages of relying solely on AI, such as accuracy concerns and the potential erosion of nuanced human insight. With an emphasis on crafting effective prompts and inputs, this article reveals how to navigate the labyrinth of AI capabilities to create a good-quality manuscript.

Flexible disk ultramicroelectrode: Facile preparation and high-resolution scanning electrochemical microscopy imaging.

Anal Chim Acta

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Electroanalytical Chemistry, Jilin Province Key Laboratory of Low Carbon Chemical Power, Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun, 130022, Jilin, China; School of Applied Chemistry and Engineering, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, 230026, Anhui, China. Electronic address:

Background: Scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) is a kind of scanning probe technology that enables the obtainment of surface morphology and electrochemical information by recording changes in Faraday current triggered by the movement of probe.

Results: In this work, flexible disk ultramicroelectrode (UME) with highly repeatable geometry are fabricated through a simple and universal strategy that involves vacuum pulling the glass capillaries inserted with platinum wire (gold wire, carbon fiber, etc.), followed by a rapidly heated sealing and polishing process.

Background: Although surface finishing processes are effective against Streptococcus mutans biofilm, the mechanism of action of saliva with different acidity values has not been studied in detail. This study aims to produce four different all-ceramic materials in a single session with CAD/CAM devices and apply two different surface finishing processes, glazing and polishing, and then determine the retention of Streptococcus mutants on the surfaces of the materials in saliva with varying levels of acidity.

Methods: Zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate (Vita Suprinity, Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Saöckingen, Germany), monochromatic feldspar (Vitablocs Mark 2, Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Saöckingen, Germany), leucite glass ceramic (IPS Empress CAD, Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein), and monolithic zirconia (Incoris TZI (Cerec) Sirona, Germany) were used in the study.

Magnesium plays an important role in the hardening mechanism of aluminum alloys, but sensitisation-induced intergranular corrosion cracking limits the widespread use of aluminum alloy in equipment. For on-site quantitative assessment of sensitisation in 5-series aluminum alloys, a laser-induced plasma imaging technique is proposed, which evaluates the degree of aluminum alloy sensitisation by obtaining images of the plasma formed by laser ablation of aluminum alloys, and then classifying and quantifying the images using a residual network. Compared to EMAT, XRD, ECT and LIBS techniques, the sample surface only needs to be polished, does not consume chemical reagents and is not affected by the shape and thickness of the workpiece, which provides higher quantitative accuracy, stability and detection efficiency.
