Published: April 2002

In the title complex, [Cu(BF(4))(2)(1tpc)(4)] [1tpc is 1-(3-chloropropyl)-1,2,4-triazole, C(5)H(8)ClN(3)], the copper(II) centres reside in a tetragonally distorted octahedral coordination environment. Four 1tpc ligands are coordinated to the metal atom via the N4 atom of the triazole rings in a square-planar arrangement, with Cu-N bond lengths in the range 2.002 (2)-2.019 (2) A. Two tetrafluoroborate anions, in the axial positions above and below the square plane, are weakly coordinated to the copper(II) centre, with Cu-F distances of 2.4009 (18) and 2.5096 (18) A.

The tetra-kis complex of neodymium(III), tetra-kis-{μ--[bis-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)phos-phor-yl]acet-am-id-ato}bis(pro-pan-2-ol)neodymiumsodium pro-pan-2-ol monosol-vate, [NaNd(CHClNO)(CHO)]·CHO or NaNdPyr(-PrOH)·-PrOH, with the amide type CAPh ligand bis(,-tetra-methylene)(tri-chloro-acetyl)phos-phoric acid tri-amide (HPyr), has been synthesized, crystallized and characterized by X-ray diffraction. The complex does not have the tetra-kis-(CAPh)lanthanide anion, which is typical for ester-type CAPh-based coordin-ation compounds. Instead, the NdO polyhedron is formed by one oxygen atom of a 2-propanol mol-ecule and seven oxygen atoms of CAPh ligands in the title compound.

A broad light-harvesting range and efficient charge separation are two main ways to enhance the visible photocatalytic performance of semiconductors. Herein, an ionic porphyrin MOF [In(TPyP)]·(NO) (1) (TPyP = 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-pyridyl)-21,23-porphyrin) was synthesized metalation. The orderly arranged porphyrin photosensitizer and the internal electric field between the MOF host and NO guests enable effective visible light response and electron-hole separation.

The title cluster compound, [Mo(η-CHMe)(μ-Se)], was synthesized from the reaction of [Mo(η-CHMe)(CO)] with grey selenium in refluxing xylene solution under a nitro-gen atmosphere. The complete cluster is generated by a crystallographic twofold axis and contains an MoSe cubane-like core surrounded by four η-methylcyclo-pentadienyl ligands. In the core, the four molybdenum atoms are connected to each other to form a tetra-hedron, with a selenium atom capping each face.

The title compound, [Al(CH)(CHN)H], crystallizes as eight-membered rings with -(CH)Al-(CH)N-(CH)Al- moieties connected by single hydride bridges. In the X-ray structure, the ring has a chair conformation, with the hydride H atoms being close to the plane through the four Al atoms. An optimized structure was also calculated by all-electron density functional theory (DFT) methods, which agrees with the X-ray structure but gives a somewhat different geometry for the hydride bridge.

The title compound, (CHN)(CHNO)[VO]·4HO, is a by-product obtained by reacting ammonium metavanadate(V), metformin hydro-chloride and acetic acid in the presence of sodium hypochlorite, at pH = 5. The crystal structure comprises a deca-vanadate(V) anion (VO) lying on an inversion centre in space group , while cations and solvent water mol-ecules are placed in general positions, surrounding the anion, and forming numerous N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Metforminium (CHN) and guanylurea (CHNO) cations display the expected shape.
