Individual differences in self-control predict many health and life outcomes. Building on twin literature, we used genomic structural equation modeling to test the hypothesis that genetic influences on executive function and impulsivity predict independent variance in mental health and other outcomes. The impulsivity factor (comprising urgency, lack of premeditation, and other facets) was only modestly genetically correlated with low executive function ( =.

Study has been premeditated to appraise the anticancer and anti-inflammatory activities of a native medicinal plant Saussurea hypoleuca Spreng root. Anticancer assays including MTT, Alamar Blue (AB), Neutral Red (NR) & LDH were employed on root methanolic extract (RME) and all fractions to calculate % age of cell viability and cell cytotoxicity. All fractions of plant root were tested for in vitro as well as in vivo anti-inflammatory assays by reported methods.

Oxidative stability of prototypical groundnut oil (GO) and mustard oil (MO) blended with a significant characteristic addition of antioxidants, α-tocopherol (α-T) and TBHQ (tert-butyl hydroquinone), at different concentrations was analysed. α-T (natural) and TBHQ (synthetic) antioxidants at a different concentrations from 0 to 20 mg/L were blended with GO and MO to prepare 18 samples. Compositional analysis of groundnut oil and mustard oil was carried out using gas chromatography and mass spectra (GCMS).

This article describes synthesis, characterization, antimicrobial, drug-releasing and anti-cancer activity of acrylate monomer and its polymer containing chalcone moiety. The synthesized polymers were characterized through IR, H NMR and UV-visible spectroscopy techniques. The molecular weight of the obtained polymer is found to be around 4000 g/mol.

Background: Positive urgency reflects a specific facet of impulsivity and correlates with several health-related risk behaviors such as obesity, food addiction, and substance use. However, less is known about whether positive urgency is similarly or differently associated with high body mass index (BMI) across diverse racial groups.

Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate racial differences in the associations between positive urgency and BMI in 9-10-year-old children in the US.
