In general there is consensus regarding the required criteria for crown- and bridge restorations. However, the variety in methods used for their fabrication is large. Textbooks and courses tend to advocate the use of full arch impressions without supplying objective data indicating better clinical behaviour of these restorations compared with the use of quadrant impressions. This article presents advantages, disadvantages, indication and essential steps when using quadrant models.

Objective: This study assesses whether longitudinal quantitative pupillometry predicts neurological deterioration after large middle cerebral artery (MCA) stroke and determines how early changes are detectable.
Methods: This prospective, single-center observational cohort study included patients with large MCA stroke admitted to Boston Medical Center's intensive care unit (2019-2024). Associations between time-to-neurologic deterioration and quantitative pupillometry, including Neurological Pupil Index (NPi), were assessed using Cox proportional hazards models with time-dependent covariates adjusted for age, sex, and Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score.

Despite its potential, challenges still exist in terms of its accuracy and applicability, particularly when it is used to monitor cells during stationary and decline phases. In this study, data pre-processing methods were first evaluated through cross-validation, where the first-order derivative emerged as the most effective method to diminish variability in prediction accuracy across different training datasets.
