The escalating prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria has led to a serious global public health problem; therefore, there is an urgent need for the development of structurally innovative antibacterial agents. In our study, different series of tetra-substituted thiophene derivatives were designed and synthesized by multi-component reactions (MCRs) in moderate to excellent yields. Some of the designed final compounds were synthesized by both microwave assisted method and traditional synthesis.

Background And Objective: Utilizing AI to mine tumor microenvironment information in whole slide images (WSIs) for glioma molecular subtype and prognosis prediction is significant for treatment. Existing weakly-supervised learning frameworks based on multi-instance learning have potential in WSIs analysis, but the large number of patches from WSIs challenges the effective extraction of key local patch and neighboring patch microenvironment info. Therefore, this paper aims to develop an automatic neural network that effectively extracts tumor microenvironment information from WSIs to predict molecular typing and prognosis of glioma.

Background: Acute care hospitalization has been associated with older adult home falls after discharge, but less is known about the effects of hospital- and patient-related factors on home fall risk.
Objectives: This study compares the effects of hospital length of stay, medical condition, history of falls, and home health care on period rates of home falls after discharge from acute care hospitalization.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study comparing period rates of home injury falls among older adults (age ≥ 65) occurring after discharge from an acute care hospitalization.

Background: Male breast cancer (MBC) is a rare disease, accounting for 1% of all breast cancers diagnosed in the United States. The rarity of MBC has limited the development of treatment algorithms specific to men. Thus, the standard of care has been mastectomy.
