Aim: The prevailing guidelines for obesity in Asian Indians, published in 2009, relied solely on body mass index (BMI) criteria. Recognizing the limitations of BMI in accurately diagnosing obesity and the emergence of new research revealing the association between generalized and abdominal adiposity in Asian Indians and early-onset co-morbid diseases, a comprehensive redefinition was needed.
Method: In a Delphi process focused on obesity in India, experts were invited via email to participate in five rounds.
Effects of drinking water supplemented with apple vinegar, essential oils, or colistin sulfate on growth performance, blood lipids, antioxidant status, intestinal morphology, and gut microflora of broiler chickens.

With rising concerns about antibiotic resistance and its consequences on public health, the identification of safe and effective alternatives to antibiotics in the poultry industry has become increasingly critical. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of supplementing drinking water with apple vinegar and essential oils, compared to an antibiotic growth promoter, on the growth performance, serum lipid profile, antioxidant status, intestinal morphology, and gastrointestinal microflora population of broiler chickens. A total of 240 one-day-old male broiler chickens were randomly assigned to four treatments, each consisting of six replicate pens with ten birds per pen.

The aim was to estimate the prevalence of low muscle mass (LMM) and low muscle mass associated with obesity (LMM-O) in healthy adult, and to verify the performance of raw bioelectrical impedance parameters (BIA) and vector analysis (BIVA) in the screening of this tow conditions. This is a cross-sectional study including 1025 healthy adults. Body composition was assessed by the BIA technique.

Background: A low level of response (LR) to alcohol is a known risk factor for alcohol use disorder (AUD). Although higher total body water (TBW) is associated with lower blood alcohol concentrations and reduced responses following alcohol consumption, the relationship between morphometric measures such as body mass index (BMI) and LR is less clear. This study aimed to examine the relationship between BMI and LR to alcohol, and the contribution of TBW to this relationship.

Analysis of energy pathways is useful in helping to understand adaptations to specific sports practices, which vary according to the type of effort and individual characteristics of the athletes. In this sense, this study aimed to describe the physiological changes related to lipid markers in amputee athletes who practice para-sport jiu-jitsu. This is an observational study, which included three male amputee athletes, aged between 41 and 46 years old and with more than 24 months of experience at a professional level.
