Significance: Cataract surgery is one of the most performed surgical procedures worldwide. As a potential complication following cataract surgery, dry eye has the potential to impact visual outcomes, lower patient satisfaction, and be detrimental to quality of life.
Purpose: To evaluate the effect of cataract surgery on dry eye outcomes postoperatively.

Background: Acanthamoeba keratitis (AK) is the most challenging corneal infection to treat, with conventional therapies often proving ineffective. While photoactivated chromophore for keratitis-corneal cross-linking (PACK-CXL) with riboflavin/UV-A has shown success in treating bacterial and fungal keratitis, and PACK-CXL with rose bengal/green light has demonstrated promise in fungal keratitis, neither approach has been shown to effectively eradicate AK. This case study explores a novel combined same-session treatment approach using both riboflavin/UV-A and rose bengal/green light in a single procedure.

GPA is a disease known for inflammation in the respiratory tract and kidneys. A 63-year-old male patient presented with a mass, swelling, and ptosis in the right upper eyelid.

Objective: This study aims to determine the outcomes of probing and external dacryocystorhinostomy (exDCR) for congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (cNLDO) and the factors influencing the success rates in pediatric cNLDO.
Design: A retrospective sample collection was conducted at the oculoplastic referral center over 10 years (January 2012 to December 2022) for cNLDO patients who had undergone probing or exDCR.
Methodology: Data were retrospectively reviewed for patients aged ≤18 years who underwent probing or exDCR.

Dry eye disease (DED) is a common multifactorial disorder characterized by a deficiency in the quality and/or quantity of tear fluid. Tear hyperosmolarity, the dysfunction of ion channel proteins, and eye inflammation are primarily responsible for the development and progression of DED. Alterations in the structure and/or function of ion channel receptors (transient receptor potential ankyrin 1 (TRPA1), transient receptor potential melastatin 8 (TRPM8), transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 and 4 (TRPV1 and TRPV4)), and consequent hyperosmolarity of the tears represent the initial step in the development and progression of DED.
