The aim of this research review was to answer the clinical question 'what factors contribute to the development of pressure ulcers in the paediatric population?' A sensitive, systematic search was undertaken to identify all empirical studies that could answer this question. The question was broken down using facet analysis to identify the key terms that were used in the search strategy. All relevant databases were searched and a hand search of key journals was also undertaken. The review found very little empirical data that could answer the question. The majority of studies focused on the paediatric intensive care (PIC) population and had small sample sizes. Some factors were identified that contributed to the development of pressure ulcers in the PIC population. All of these factors except one were related to the acuity of the child's illness. The small sample sizes and limited populations mean that these studies cannot be generalised to the whole paediatric population and there is a need for more primary research to answer the question.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major threat to global public health that continues to grow owing to selective pressure caused by the use and overuse of antimicrobial drugs. Resistance spread by plasmids is of special concern, as they can mediate a wide distribution of AMR genes, including those encoding extended-spectrum -lactamases (ESBLs). The CTX-M family of ESBLs has rapidly spread worldwide, playing a large role in the declining effectiveness of third-generation cephalosporins.

The formation of histamine in food is influenced by temperature, and histamine growth can be inhibited by maintaining a cold chain. However, simply relying on temperature control is insufficient, as certain bacteria can produce the enzyme histidine decarboxylase even at temperatures below 5°C. To address this issue, various methods, such as modified atmosphere packaging, high hydrostatic pressure, and irradiation, have been developed to control histamine in fishery products.

The Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR) Central Nervous System Expert Panel is made up of physicians from the disciplines of radiology, emergency medicine, neurosurgery, and neurology, a patient advisor, and an epidemiologist/guideline methodologist. After developing a list of 24 clinical/diagnostic scenarios, a rapid scoping review was undertaken to identify systematically produced referral guidelines that provide recommendations for one or more of these clinical/diagnostic scenarios. Recommendations from 55 guidelines and contextualization criteria in the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluations (GRADE) for guidelines framework were used to develop 51 recommendation statements across the 24 scenarios.
