Tuta absoluta is one of the most destructive pests of tomatoes. Chemical insecticides used to control this leafminer harm all organisms, increasing the risk to public health and the environment. Developing natural alternatives, such as bioinsecticides formulated from essential plant oils, is a key strategy to address this problem.

Cellobiose lipids (CBLs) are a class of glycolipid biosurfactants produced by various fungal strains. These compounds have gained significant interest due to their surface-active and antifungal properties, which are comparable to traditional synthetic surfactants and antimicrobials. Despite their potential applicability in various cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and agricultural formulations, significantly less research has been focused on their production and purification in comparison to other glycolipid biosurfactants, such as mannosylerythritol lipids (MELs) and sophorolipids.

In this study, oil-in-water (O/W) high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) with enhanced antioxidative properties stabilized by octenyl succinic anhydride modified starch (OSAS)/(-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) mixtures were prepared. The influence of EGCG concentration (0-0.2 %, w/v), NaCl concentration (0-400 mmol/L), and temperature (25-90 °C) on the stability of the HIPEs was evaluated.

Background: Hippocampal hyperactivity is a hallmark of prodromal Alzheimer's disease (AD) that predicts progression in patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI). AGB101 is an extended-release formulation of levetiracetam in the dose range previously demonstrated to normalize hippocampal activity and improve cognitive performance in aMCI. The HOPE4MCI clinical trial used a 78-week protocol to assess progression in amyloid-positive patients with MCI due to AD.

Background: Cognitive resilience research in African Americans (AA) shows that higher educational attainment (EA) can mitigate the impact of Alzheimer disease pathology (ADP). However, this mitigating effect is less pronounced in APOEε4 carriers. This finding suggests a disparity in resilience influenced by an interplay of educational and genetic factors.
