Objective: To study the subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) transcriptome in people with HIV (PWH) switching efavirenz (EFV) or a protease inhibitor (PI) to raltegravir and to compare the transcriptome of PWH to those of people without HIV (PWoH).
Design: PWH (n = 36) on EFV (n = 22) or a PI (n = 14) based ART regimen were randomized to switch to RAL (n = 15) or to continue unchanged medication (n = 17). PWoH (n = 10), comparable in age and body mass index, were included for comparison.

Hybrid quantum-classical computing algorithms offer significant potential for accelerating the calculation of the electronic structure of strongly correlated molecules. In this work, we present the first quantum simulation of conical intersections (CIs) in a biomolecule, cytosine, using a superconducting quantum computer. We apply the contracted quantum eigensolver (CQE)─with comparisons to conventional variational quantum deflation (VQD)─to compute the near-degenerate ground and excited states associated with the conical intersection, a key feature governing the photostability of DNA and RNA.

Tomatoes have the highest agricultural production among vegetables in Japan and worldwide. Japanese large-sized fresh-market tomatoes have a unique breeding history that differs from that of other countries, represented by pink-colored and juicy fruits with a good taste and flavor. We performed whole-genome resequencing of 150 Japanese large-sized fresh-market tomato cultivars released from the 1940s to the 2000s to unveil how breeding selection has changed the genome of Japanese tomato cultivars and provide a genomic basis for future Japanese tomato breeding.

Bryophytes represent a diverse and species-rich group of plants, characterized by a remarkable array of morphological variations. Due to their significant ecological and economic roles worldwide, accurate identification of bryophyte taxa is crucial. However, the variability in morphological traits often complicates their proper identification and subsequent commercial utilization.
