Article Synopsis
  • Online travel agency (OTA) platforms often engage in unfair practices that harm both consumers and airlines, prompting a need for better governance and oversight in the ticket sales market.
  • A game model is developed to examine how airlines, platforms, and consumers can collaborate to address these issues and improve cooperative supervision.
  • The study suggests that stricter airline control over ticket sales, higher fines for misconduct, and better consumer rights protection can enhance cooperation and accountability among all parties, advocating for a market-based solution to encourage self-regulation.

Whole genome sequencing (WGS) of a tumour may sometimes reveal additional potential targets for medical treatment. Practice variation in the use of WGS is therefore a source of unequal access to targeted therapies and, as a consequence, of disparities in health outcomes. Moreover, this may even be more significant if patients seek access to WGS by paying a relatively limited amount of money out of pocket, and sometimes effectively buy themselves a ticket to (very) expensive publicly funded treatments.

Objectives: An assessment of the current status of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was undertaken to provide input for future government decisions on the introduction of new technologies in Asia. The objective of the study is to describe and explain the diffusion pattern of this costly technology in several Asian settings.

Methods: Data on the diffusion pattern of MRI for different Asian countries (the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand) and regions (the cities of Shanghai and Hong Kong in China and the state of Tamil Nadu in India) were obtained from national representatives of professional bodies by using standardized questionnaires for the year 1997-98.
