The COX7A1 gene encodes a heart- and muscle-specific isoform of the subunit VIIA of cytochrome c oxidase, which is the last component of the mitochondrial electron transfer chain. Cloning and characterization of the porcine COX7A1 gene revealed a highly conserved organization with respect to other mammalian COX7A1 orthologs. The porcine gene consists of four exons spanning approximately 1.5 kb and codes for a peptide of 80 amino acids. The COX7A1 gene showed no variation between pigs from different breeds. The gene was assigned by FISH and RH-mapping to SSC 6q1.1-->q1.2 which is in agreement with previously established comparative maps.

Abnormal fat accumulation can lead to metabolic syndrome (MetS), increasing the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease in MetS patients. Early identification of MetS risk is essential for effective disease prevention. Using bioinformatics methods, we sought biomarkers for MetS.

The aim of this study was to clarify the transcriptional and metabolic characteristics of C2C12 myoblasts cultured in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) containing 20 % chicken serum (CHS) (C2C12-CHS cells) compared with C2C12 myoblasts cultured in DMEM containing 20 % fetal bovine serum (FBS) (C2C12-FBS cells). After 3 days of culture, C2C12-CHS cells showed a marked accumulation of lipid droplets, accompanied by increased expression levels of brown adipocyte-related genes (i.e.

has a long history of cultivation in Asia and is widely used in food production for its unique aroma, which has important cultural and economic values. It is rich in flavonoids with diverse pharmacological properties, such as antioxidant, anti-tumor, and anti-lipid activities. However, little is known regarding the effects of flavonoid extract (OFFE) on adipogenesis and pre-adipocyte transdifferentiation.

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common clinical malignant tumors worldwide, with high morbidity and mortality. Presently, the overall response rate to immunotherapy is low, and current methods for predicting the prognosis of GC are not optimal. Therefore, novel biomarkers with accuracy, efficiency, stability, performance ratio, and wide clinical application are needed.

Background: GC is a highly heterogeneous tumor with different responses to immunotherapy, and the positive response depends on the unique interaction between the tumor and the tumor microenvironment (TME). However, the currently available methods for prognostic prediction are not satisfactory. Therefore, this study aims to construct a novel model that integrates relevant gene sets to predict the clinical efficacy of immunotherapy and the prognosis of GC patients based on machine learning.
