Background: This study evaluates the efficacy of a novel bismuth subgallate-borneol compound ointment as an adjuvant therapy in promoting postoperative healing of infectious incisions after anorectal surgery.
Methods: From June 2023 to October 2023, 46 patients with perianal abscess and anal fistula treated at our institution's Anorectal Surgery Department were enrolled in this prospective randomized controlled study. Patients were randomly allocated into 2 groups: the experimental group (n = 23) received conventional wound care plus a proprietary ointment containing 4.

Objective: The primary objective of this study is to develop and validate a high-risk model for Arteriovenous Fistula Thrombosis (AVFT) in patients undergoing autogenous arteriovenous fistula surgery for hemodialysis.
Methods: Retrospectively, we collected general information, clinical characteristics, laboratory examinations, and dialysis-related factors from a cohort of 1465 patients who received continuous arteriovenous fistula surgery at the Hemodialysis Access Center of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital between January 2019 and June 2022. The patients were randomly divided into a training set and a validation set in a 2:1 ratio.

We report the management of a convexity dural arteriovenous fistula (dAVF) in an uncommon anterior superior sagittal sinus (SSS) location. This was a high-risk Cognard IIa+b dAVF, which is notoriously complex to treat. Endoscopic management alone for complex SSS dAVFs is challenging due to the often bilateral arterial supply to the fistula, as demonstrated in this case.

Pilonidal sinus (PNS) is a nest of hair which typically presents as pits, pus discharge, and an abscess at the natal cleft region. In rare conditions where pilonidal abscess is not drained properly, it progresses posteriorly and reaches anal canal, eventually coexisting with anal fistula. Both are associated with a high recurrence rate despite surgical management.

Cerebral proliferative angiopathy (CPA) is a rare subtype of cerebral arteriovenous malformation, characterized by unique angiographic features and clinical presentations. Although the clinical and angiographic characteristics of CPA have been well described, their impact on the surrounding tissues remains underexplored. Herein, we investigated the presence of calvarial thickening in patients with CPA, and discuss its potential pathogenesis.
