The global decline in insect biomass has far-reaching implications for terrestrial and freshwater food webs, impacting species reliant on insects as a crucial component of their diet. This issue extends to species traditionally considered agricultural pests, such as the common cockchafer . In the race to combat cockchafers through collection, insecticide use, and other control methods, the repercussions of their numerical fluctuations on predators, including species of high conservation importance like bats, have been largely overlooked.

Importance: The publication of the Antenatal Late Preterm Steroids (ALPS) trial in February 2016 demonstrated that antenatal administration of betamethasone in the late preterm period (between 34 to 36 weeks of gestation) for individuals with a high risk of delivery decreased neonatal respiratory morbidity. National estimates have suggested the trial did change obstetric practice, but little is known if the evidence was adopted uniformly or equitably.
Objective: To assess regional variation in the use of late preterm steroids after the publication of the Antenatal Late Preterm Steroids (ALPS) Trial and to understand factors associated with a region's pace of adoption.

Highly divergent picornaviruses (PVs) classified in the genus Bopivirus have been recently discovered on faecal samples from sheep and goats in Hungary and from fallow and red deer in Australia. In this study, we investigated the epidemiology of these novel viruses in domestic and wild ruminants from Northwestern Italian Alps by testing archival faecal samples collected from 128 sheep, 167 goats, 61 red deer (Cervus elaphus), 77 roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), 43 chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) and 32 Alpine ibex (Capra ibex). Bopivirus RNA was detected in a total of 19 animals, including 14 sheep (10.
