Alzheimer's Disease (AD), a progressive neurodegenerative disorder, is characterized by the accumulation of neurofibrillary tangles and β-amyloid plaques, leading to a decline in cognitive function. AD is characterized by tau protein hyperphosphorylation and extracellular β-amyloid accumulation. Even after much research, there are still no proven cures for AD.

Oxidative stress contributes to the development of cardiometabolic diseases and cancers. Numerous studies have highlighted the adverse effects of high reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels in the progression of chronic noncommunicable diseases and also during infections. On the other hand, antioxidants play a crucial role in preventing oxidative stress or postponing cell damage via the direct scavenging of free radicals or indirectly via the Keap1/Nrf2/ARE pathway, among others.

Thermodynamic therapy (TDT) is a promising alternative to photodynamic therapy (PDT) by absorbing heat through thermosensitive agents (TSAs) to generate oxygen-irrelevant highly toxic free radicals. Therefore, TDT can be a perfect partner for photothermal therapy (PTT) to achieve efficient synergistic treatment of anoxic tumors using a single laser, greatly simplifying the treatment process and overcoming hypoxia limitations. However, the issues of how to improve the stability and delivery efficiency of TSAs still need to be addressed urgently.

Operando electron paramagnetic resonance is used to monitor the light-initiated generation of the diethylnitroxyl radical from diethylhydroxylamine (DEHA) and its decay kinetics, thereby unveiling solvent effects on both the electronic structure and stability of the nitroxyl radical. The observed trends in hyperfine coupling constants ( and ) across different solvents align with previously reported values of the 4-amino-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidoxyl radical (ATEMPO). Regarding the stability of the DEHA radical in various solvents, the obtained decay-kinetic constants () correlated more strongly with than with the permittivity of the solvents.

Background: Postoperative fever (POF) is a common occurrence in patients undergoing major surgery, presenting challenges and burdens for both patients and surgeons yet. This study endeavors to examine the incidence, identify risk factors, and establish a machine learning-based predictive model for POF following surgery of oral cancer.
Methods: A total of seven hundred and twenty-seven consecutive patients undergoing radical resection of oral cancer were retrospectively investigated.
