A 7-year-old mixed-breed cat presented with intermittent dry cough for 2 years. Histological examination of the lung biopsy revealed hyperplasia of bronchial and bronchiolar epithelium, and intraepithelial infiltration of globule leukocytes in many bronchi, bronchioles, and terminal bronchioles. Lymphoid aggregates cuffed airways, respiratory bronchioles, and alveolar ducts.

Dermatosparaxis is a subtype of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (dEDS) that typically results in euthanasia of dogs in the first several months of life because of complications mostly related to extreme skin fragility. The goal of this report was to describe ultrastructural features of collagen fibrils from a dog with a milder form of dEDS. A skin biopsy sample was procured from a nearly 10-year-old Catahoula Leopard dog with dEDS associated with a previously published homozygous missense variant in ADAMTS2.

Background: Regulation of epithelial cell death has emerged as a key mechanism maintaining immune homeostasis in the airway. However, the mechanisms governing epithelial cell survival in nasal polyps (NPs) remains poorly understood.
Objective: To investigate the ferroptosis of nasal epithelial cell and its implications in the pathogenesis of NPs.

BackgroundDespite dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) being the second most common form of neurodegenerative dementia, more than 80% of DLB cases are initially misdiagnosed. Alpha-synuclein (a-syn) and tau species have been detected in peripheral tissues and biological fluids of DLB patients and among different biological fluids, saliva represent an easely accessible and non-invasive source for biomarker detection.ObjectiveThis study aimed to investigate salivary a-syn and tau species as molecular disease biomarkers, assessing their potential in the diagnosis of DLB and in the differential diagnosis on respect to Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD).

In recent years, bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) has been associated with increased respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases in cattle. Comprehensive monitoring and investigations into the virus's pathological features are crucial for developing effective prevention strategies. This study investigated BVDV prevalence and pathogenicity in farms undergoing elimination protocols, with a focus on characterizing a novel Cytopathic Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (CP-type BVDV) strain (HH839) isolated from a symptomatic calf in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia.
