Knowledge of the normal liver size is essential for making the scintigraphic estimate of hepatomegaly. A nomogram for sonographic liver size versus height of the patient was developed for the normal pediatric patient. Liver size was measured as the longitudinal liver length in the plane midway between the xiphoid and the right lateral liver margin. Scintigraphic and sonographic measurements showed a good correlation. The scintigraphic nomogram was developed using the experimentally determined relationship between the two modalities.

Background: Interventional therapy, currently, has become a major method for the clinical treatment of liver cancer patients. However, interventional therapy can also lead to various toxic side effects, and combined with the impact of the disease itself, liver cancer patients often experience more severe emotional distress. Improving individuals' levels of psychological distress tolerance may reduce sensitivity to negative life events and experiences.

SARS-CoV-2 infection induces a humoral immune response, producing virus-specific antibodies such as IgM, IgG, and IgA. IgA antibodies are present at mucosal sites, protecting against respiratory and other mucosal infections, including SARS-CoV-2, by neutralizing viruses or impeding attachment to epithelial cells. Since SARS-CoV-2 spreads through the nasopharynx, the specific IgAs of SARS-CoV-2 are produced quickly after infection, effectively contributing to virus neutralization.

The present study aimed to explore an ideal delivery system for triptolide (TPL) by utilizing the thin-film hydration method to prepare drug-loaded, folate-modified mixed pluronic micelles (FA-F-127/F-68-TPL). Scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy showed that the drug-loaded micelles had a spherical shape with a small particle size, with an average of 30.7 nm.

Background/objective: In recent studies, it has been shown that dietary bioactive compounds can produce health benefits; however, it is not known whether an improvement in solubility can enhance their biological effects. Thus, the aim of this work was to study whether co-amorphous (CoA) naringenin or fisetin with enhanced solubility modify glucose and lipid metabolism, thermogenic capacity and gut microbiota in mice fed a high-fat, high-sucrose (HFSD) diet.
Methods: Mice were fed with an HFSD with or without CoA-naringenin or CoA-fisetin for 3 months.

Background/objectives: Functional probiotics, particularly subsp. CKDB001, have shown potential as a therapeutic option for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). However, their effects have not been confirmed in in vivo systems.
