Objectives: Deletion of gene in mice has been linked to progressive hearing loss and degeneration of cochlear cells. Cisplatin, an antitumor drug, can cause various side effects, including ototoxicity. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of on cisplatin-induced hearing impairment in mice and to explore the possible mechanism.

Although cisplatin is a widely used chemotherapeutic agent, it is severely toxic and causes irreversible hearing loss, restricting its application in clinical settings. This study aimed to determine the molecular mechanism underlying cisplatin-induced ototoxicity. Here, we established in vitro and in vivo ototoxicity models of cisplatin-induced hair cell loss, and our results showed that reducing STING levels decreased inflammatory factor expression and hair cell death.

Backgrounds: Due to the therapeutic needs of inner ear diseases, a simple method of inner ear drug delivery has been under exploration. Postauricular administration, which involves injecting the drug through the middle of the retroauricular groove, is a potential novel approach, but its mechanisms remain unclear.
Objectives: To investigate threshold shifts in the auditory brainstem response (ABR), as well as the morphology and quantity of hair cells on the bilateral inner ear of guinea pigs after postauricular neomycin administration.
