An experimental enzyme immunoassay test kit was developed for detecting glycyrrhizic acid (GA) during pharmacokinetic investigations. This method was used to determine the GA content in the blood plasma of mice and guinea pigs after intraperitoneal and intravenous injections. The results of the GA determination using the new test kit agree with the data obtained by HPLC.

Background: Reactive astrocytes and neuron death by excitotoxicity are observed in Alzheimer's disease (AD). DHA-H (2-hydroxy-docosahexaenoic acid; 2-OH-C22:6 n-3) is a molecule under development that has demonstrated therapeutic efficacy in both cellular and 5xFAD mouse model of AD. DHA-H is metabolized through α-oxidation to yield HPA (Heneicosapentaenoic acid; C21:5 n-3).

Background: This is a multicentre, European, prospective trial evaluating the diagnostic accuracy of One Step Nucleic Acid Amplification (OSNA) compared to sentinel lymph nodes histopathological ultrastaging in endometrial cancer patients.
Methods: Centres with expertise in sentinel lymph node mapping in endometrial cancer patients in Europe will be invited to participate in the study. Participating units will be trained on the correct usage of the OSNA RD-210 analyser and nucleic acid amplification reagent kit LYNOAMP CK19 E for rapid detection of metastatic nodal involvement, based on the cytokeratin 19 (CK19) mRNA detection.

Home-based sexual health care (including self-sampling testing) could reduce barriers to clinic-based testing. This study systematically evaluated the implementation of home-based sexual health care ('Limburg4Zero') among men who have sex with men (MSM) in a mixed urban-rural region of the Netherlands. We systematically assessed implementation outcomes (contextual domains, population reached, effectiveness, adoption by health care providers (HCP), implementation fidelity, and maintenance) using the practical, robust implementation and sustainability model.

The genus Euphorbia, belonging to the family Euphorbiaceae, represents a significant ethnobotanical heritage due to the diverse bioactive properties exhibited. In this study, the phytochemical composition and biological activities of latex and aerial parts of the water extract of Euphorbia gaillardotii were investigated. Phytochemical analyses were performed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and high-performance liquid chromatography techniques and total antioxidants, phenolics, sugars, organic acids, and aroma components were quantitatively determined.

A newly formatted enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the detection of antibodies to bluetongue virus (BTV) was developed and validated for bovine and ovine sera and plasma. Validation of the new sandwich ELISA (sELISA) was achieved with 949 negative bovine and ovine sera from BTV endemic and non-endemic areas of Australia and 752 BTV positive (field and experimental) sera verified by VNT and/or PCR. The test diagnostic sensitivity (DSe) and diagnostic specificity (DSp) were 99.
