Genetic diversity of Colorado potato beetle in a natural population from Fastovskii rayon, Kiev oblast was estimated using RAPD. The level of polymorphism for RAPD markers was far higher in the spring generation than in the sample obtained from the same locality in summer of the preceding year. The frequency of individual RAPD markers was found to differ in males and females of potato beetle.

Background and Objective: Black soybeans [Glycine max (L.) Merr] are among the important crops, but the cultivated resources are normally low-yielding, susceptible to diseases and low profit. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the genetic diversity of black soybean germplasms for breeding programs.

Portulaca umbraticola, commonly known as "Eleven o'clock", is a popular ornamental plant in Brazil, but its potential as a non-conventional food source remains underexplored. Assessing its genetic and cytogenetic diversity is crucial for breeding and selecting optimal accessions. In this study, we analyzed the genetic diversity of P.

In this research, we analyzed Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD), Inter Simple Sequence Repeats (ISSR) and Sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP) markers to evaluate the genetic diversity of eighteen different onion genotypes with various resistant levels to FOC. The results showed that the polymorphism means between RAPD primers was 61.11 to 81.

Article Synopsis
 • The Japanese quail is a small migratory bird native to East Asia, introduced to Iraq in the 1980s for research, focusing on its genetic diversity for conservation and breeding purposes.
 • The study employed RAPD-PCR to analyze seven genetic lines of quail, revealing significant genetic variation across plumage types, with certain lines showing more genetic divergence than others.
 • The findings suggest that selecting quail lines with the greatest genetic distance can enhance conservation efforts and breeding programs, aligning with modern strategies to maintain genetic diversity.
