Background: Limited data were available to understand the significance of ferroptosis in leukemia prognosis, regardless of the genomic background.

Methods: RNA-seq data from 151 AML patients were analyzed from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database, along with 70 healthy samples from the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) database. Ferroptosis-related genes (FRGs) features were constructed by multivariate COX regression analysis and risk scores were calculated for each sample and a novel prediction model was identified.

Unlabelled: Sarcomas are a family of rare malignancies composed of over 100 distinct histological subtypes. The rarity of sarcoma poses significant challenges in conducting clinical trials to identify effective therapies, to the point that many rarer subtypes of sarcoma do not have standard-of-care treatment. Even for established regimens, there can be substantial heterogeneity in responses.

Oligodendrogliomas are a subtype of adult diffuse glioma characterized by their better responsiveness to systemic chemotherapy than other high-grade glial tumors. The World Health Organization (WHO) 2021 brain tumor classification highlighted defining molecular markers, including 1p19q codeletion and IDH mutations which have become key in diagnosing and treating oligodendrogliomas. The management for patients with oligodendrogliomas includes observation or surgical resection potentially followed by radiation and chemotherapy with PCV (Procarbazine, Lomustine, and Vincristine) or Temozolomide.

Background: Intermittent shortages of chemotherapeutics used to treat curable malignancies are a worldwide problem that increases patient mortality. Although multiple strategies have been proposed for managing these shortages (eg, prioritizing patients by age, scarce treatment efficacy per volume, alternative treatment efficacy difference), critical clinical dilemmas arise when selecting a management strategy and understanding its impact.

Patients And Methods: We developed a model to compare the impact of different allocation strategies on overall survival during intermittent chemotherapy shortages and tested it using vincristine, which was recently scarce for 9 months in the United States.

Department of Liver Surgery and Liver Transplantation Center, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China.

Hepatic malignancies remain a global challenge. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) accounts for around 90% of patients with liver cancer and is the sixth most common neoplasm worldwide and the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death. However, the long-term prognosis for HCC remains far from satisfactory, with a late diagnosis and limited treatment.
