Purpose: To study change in the contact of intraocular lens (IOL) with the posterior capsule with respect to the vertical versus horizontal orientation of the haptic-optic junction of the IOL using intraoperative spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT).
Methods: Fifty eyes of 50 patients with senile immature cataract underwent topical phacoemulsification procedure with implantation of a monofocal IOL by a single experienced surgeon. The Rescan 700 SD-OCT system was used for intraoperative imaging.

Introduction: Diffractive trifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) provide good vision at distance, intermediate, and near, but can also cause positive dysphotopsias. This meta-analysis pooled published evidence on visual disturbances after bilateral implantation of the PanOptix (TFNTXX) IOL for patients undergoing cataract surgery.
Method: A systematic literature search was conducted in PubMed and congress presentations from April 2021 to December 2022 to identify studies with patient-reported outcomes on the incidence of visual disturbances (starbursts, halos, glare) post bilateral implantation of PanOptix IOL during cataract surgery.

- The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of measuring tear meniscus height (TMH) using anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) for diagnosing lacrimal passage disorder (LPD) in cataract surgery patients.
- Out of 66 patients, only 12 (9.4%) had LPD, and those with LPD had a significantly higher average TMH compared to those without the disorder.
- The optimal TMH cutoff value for detecting LPD was found to be 401.0 μm, demonstrating a sensitivity of 58.3% and specificity of 83.0%, indicating AS-OCT's usefulness in preoperative assessments.

Purpose: To examine the prevalence of self-reported cataract and cataract surgery, and the incidence of cataract surgery, in relation to smoking and use of the moist smokeless tobacco product snus.
Methods: In 2014/2015, individuals born in 1951 (n = 18 055) in the Västra Götaland County, Sweden, were invited to participate. Of these, 9743 (54%) accepted participation and 9316 (52%) remained after exclusion criteria were applied.
