Objective: To understand the relationships that promote and threaten family hope during pregnancy and in the care of high-risk newborns.
Method: Qualitative research, guided by the theoretical framework of Understanding the Complex Nature of Hope, carried out between December 2021 and March 2022, with 28 members of 14 families attended at a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic for at-risk newborns in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Data obtained from interviews in thematic oral history allowed the construction of narratives, genograms and ecomaps, which were subjected to deductive thematic analysis procedures.

Aim: Although many pain assessment tools exist, none are specific to the relatively unique presentation of pulpal pain. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a novel pain assessment tool based on pulp symptoms.
Methodology: A preliminary list of items best-describing pulpitis was developed based on deductive and inductive approaches and the preliminary tool was piloted (n = 80).

Previous instruments were capable only of rudimentary measurements that were of limited utility. His initial chest X-ray showed interstitial thickening in the middle and lower lobes with pulmonary infiltrates bilaterally. The patient was treated with an outpatient course of antibiotics.
