1. In the introduction, a short survey on the effect of different structural isomers on the activity of drugs is giben. The inductive, resonance and steric effect of the ring substitution are discussed and probable mechanism of local-anesthetic action is dealth with. 2. As model substances in this work, the diethylamino-ethyl-ester-hydrochlorides of amino-, butylamino, butoxy- and butyl-benzoic acids are synthesized and their purity tests as well as the spectroscopic identifications are made. Further more the data on the pKa, ionisation degree, turbidity pH, water solubility of the bases, partition coefficient and the surface activity of these substances are given. 3. The electron density of the carbonyl groups (sigma-values and IR-frequencies), the hydrolysis constants and the protein-binding values are studied as the measure of the chemical reactivity of the model substances. 4. Although a fairly good correlation between different physico-chemical properties of these substances was found, a satisfactory correlation of the hydrolysis constants, the partition constants, the electronic densities as well as the sigma-constants to the local anesthetic activity of these substances is compared only in the p-substituted compounds. For the inconsistency in the o- and m-derivatives, the steric effect of the substituents could be called responsible.

A novel synthesis of a nanometric MCM-41 from biogenic silica obtained from rice husk is here presented. CTABr and Pluronic F127 surfactants were employed as templating agents to promote the formation of a long-range ordered 2D-hexagonal structure with cylindrical pores and to limit the particle growth at the nanoscale level thus resulting in a material with uniform particle size of 20-30 nm. The physico-chemical properties of this sample (RH-nanoMCM) were investigated through a multi-technique approach, including PXRD, Si MAS NMR, TEM, -potential and N physisorption analysis at 77 K.

Purpose: The main purpose of the study was the formulation development of nanogels (NHs) composed of chondroitin sulfate (CS) and low molecular weight chitosan (lCH), loaded with a naringenin-β-cyclodextrin complex (NAR/β-CD), as a potential treatment for early-stage diabetic retinopathy.
Methods: Different formulations of NHs were prepared by varying polymer concentration, lCH ratio, and pH and, then, characterized for particle size, zeta potential, particle concentration (particles/mL) and morphology. Cytotoxicity and internalization were assessed in vitro using Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVEC).

Nuclear export protein (NEP) of the influenza A virus, being one of the key components of the virus life cycle, is a promising model for studying characteristics of formation of amyloids by viral proteins. Using atomic force microscopy, comparative study of aggregation properties of the recombinant NEP variants, including the protein of natural structure, as well as modified variants with N- and C-terminal affinity His-tags, was carried out. All protein variants under physiological conditions are capable of forming aggregates of various morphologies: micelle-like nanoparticles, flexible protofibrils, rigid amyloid fibrils, etc.

Blueberries are the most popular small berries, in order to solve the problem of unbalanced blueberry resources in different regions of China. In this study, 18 blueberries were analyzed by chromatography and mass spectrometry for 9 soil elements, 6 anthocyanins, 7 phenolic acids, 9 organic acids, and 12 flavonoids. The result showed that blueberry physico-chemical indicators were significantly variable across production regions by Wenn and volcano maps, chlorogenic acid, ascorbic acid, citric acid, catechin were the main antioxidant active components, soil pH was significantly correlated with low content of anthocyanins and organic acids, soil elements were not significantly correlated with fruits antioxidant activity by the network correlation analysis.
