Spontaneous intraperitoneal hemorrhage is a rare and sometime fatal condition. The clinical presentation may range from a non-specific abdominal pain to an acute abdomen with hemodynamic instability. Often, a preoperative diagnosis cannot be obtained. Immediate surgical exploration remains the treatment of choice. However, pre or postoperative diagnosis can sometime be confirmed and treated with interventional radiology. In rare cases, the site of bleeding remains unknown despite intraoperative exploration and radiographic studies.

Background: The C3a/C3aR axis has been shown to play an important role in a variety of neurological diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the C3aR antagonist SB290157 on neuroinflammation in a mouse model of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and the mechanism of the protein kinase C (PKC)/P38/NLRP3 signaling pathway in C3aR-mediated neuroinflammation.
Methods: A total of 276 CD-1 mice were randomly assigned to different experimental groups.

Spontaneous hepatic hemorrhage (SHH) is a rare condition that usually occurs secondary to a neoplastic process such as hepatocellular carcinoma. We present the case of a 71-year-old male with no history of trauma or malignancy presenting to our facility with a complaint of abdominal pain. Computed tomography scans showed hemoperitoneum, a suspected aneurysmal dilatation of a branch of the left hepatic artery, and contrast extravasation from the artery.

Peritoneal dialysis (PD) remains a cornerstone treatment for children with stage 5 chronic kidney disease, offering significant benefits in terms of quality of life and patient autonomy compared to hemodialysis. Recent advances in care protocols, particularly in infection prevention, have led to a substantial reduction in peritonitis and other infectious complications in pediatric patients on PD. Despite these improvements, non-infectious complications continue to pose significant challenges to the long-term efficacy of PD.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the sixth most common cause of cancer globally, third most common cause of cancer-related death, and most common primary liver malignancy. Whilst nodular well-defined HCC remains the classical phenotype, presentations with infiltrative phenotype, very large HCC, and complications as tumour rupture provide immense diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Infiltrative HCC is difficult to distinguish against the background cirrhotic liver.
