Three patients with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) underwent sertraline therapy (Tresleen, a selective serotonin-reuptake inhibitor; Pfizer) for PMDD. During sertraline intervention, patients had no recurrent episodes of acute VVC. Antifungal activity was observed for sertraline against various isolates of Candida species.

Background: Rapamycin is currently in clinical trials for AD, yet numerous studies have suggested that rapamycin inhibits mTORC2 as well as mTORC1, which could be detrimental for AD pathology. Brain insulin resistance is a known aspect of AD pathology and mTORC2 inhibition reduces AKT phosphorylation, which is a main mediator of cellular insulin signaling, perpetuating insulin resistance and further worsening brain glucose metabolism. Here, we show that rapamycin prevents insulin-induced AKT phosphorylation in human neurons and explore the differential effects of mTORC1 and mTORC2 on neuronal insulin sensitivity.

Background: Memory is influenced by epigenetic mechanisms that regulate gene expression. Histone acetyltransferases (HATs), and histone deacetylases (HDACs), are two competitive enzymes regulating histone acetylation. Histone acetylation is reduced in Alzheimer's disease (AD) brains, and evidence has shown a synergistic regulation of HDACs and HATs activities.

The cocrystal (or supramolecular complex) between the Cu(II) complex of salicylic acid and uncoordinated piracetam has been synthesized. Its structure is characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. Spectroscopic methods confirm the formation of the metal complex, while X-ray crystallography establishes the molecular and crystal structure of the obtained compound.

In this work, we have adopted an easy route to synthesizing bis-1,2,3-triazole-based benzophenone compounds via a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction (Click Chemistry). All the target compounds achieved better yields though the microwave-assisted method than the conventional method. Target compounds structure were confirmed based on the IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HR Mass analysis.
