There has been considerable research on confusion and frustration that has treated them as two unitary constructs, distinct from each other. In this article, we argue that there is instead a constellation of different types of confusion and frustration, with different antecedents, manifestations, and impacts, and that the commonalities between many types of confusion and frustration justify thinking of them as part of the same constellation of affect, distinct from other prominent affective categories. We discuss how these types of affect have been considered historically and in key models.

Pediatric blepharokeratoconjunctivitis (PBKC) is a chronic and recurrent ocular surface inflammatory disorder affecting children in early life. It is frequently under- or late- diagnosed, representing a potential cause of severe visual morbidity worldwide. An expert panel consensus recently agreed on its definition and proposed diagnostic criteria for suspected and definitive PBKC to reduce confusion and avoid varied terminology previously used in the literature, improving early and precise diagnosis.

While the role of cancer stem cells (CSCs) in tumorigenesis, chemoresistance, metastasis, and relapse has been extensively studied in solid tumors, such as adenocarcinomas or sarcomas, the same cannot be said for neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs). While lagging, CSCs have been described in numerous NENs, including gastrointestinal and pancreatic NENs (PanNENs), and they have been found to play critical roles in tumor initiation, progression, and treatment resistance. However, it seems that there is still skepticism regarding the role of CSCs in NENs, even in light of studies that support the CSC model in these tumors and the therapeutic benefits of targeting them.
