After a boom that coincided with the advent of the internet, digital cameras, digital video and audio storage and playback devices, the research on data compression has rested on its laurels for a quarter of a century. Domain-dependent lossy algorithms of the time, such as JPEG, AVC, MP3 and others, achieved remarkable compression ratios and encoding and decoding speeds with acceptable data quality, which has kept them in common use to this day. However, recent computing paradigms such as cloud computing, edge computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and digital preservation have gradually posed new challenges, and, as a consequence, development trends in data compression are focusing on concepts that were not previously in the spotlight.

This is the protocol for a Campbell systematic review. The aim of this scoping review is to map, describe and characterize the available evidence on the role that formal care might have in complementing informal caregivers role - romantic partners, parallel family members (e.g.

Quercetin, a bioflavonoid abundant in plants, boasts antioxidant properties and plays a crucial role in various biological systems. The diffraction data of a quercetin dihydrate crystal have been measured at 20 (2) K to ultrahigh resolution (0.30 Å) using a synchrotron X-ray source.

Amyloids, large intermolecular sandwiched β-sheet structures, underlie several protein misfolding diseases but have also been shown to have functional roles and can be a basis for designing smart and responsive nanomaterials. Short segments of proteins, called aggregation-prone regions (APRs), have been identified that nucleate amyloid formation. Here we present the database of 173 APR crystal structures currently available in the PDB, and a tool, ACW, for analyzing their topologies and the 267 inter-β-sheet interfaces of zipper regions assigned in these structures.

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of mCSM-AB2, a graph-based signature machine learning method, for affinity engineering of the humanized single-chain Fv anti-CD147 (HuScFvM6-1B9). In parallel, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were used to gain valuable insights into the dynamics and affinity of the HuScFvM6-1B9-CD147 complex. The result analysis involved integrating free energy changes calculated from the mCSM-AB2 with binding free energy predictions from MD simulations.
