Accurate diagnosis and classification of kidney cancer are crucial for high-quality healthcare services. However, the current diagnostic platforms remain challenges in the rapid and accurate analysis of large-scale clinical biosamples. Herein, we fabricated a bifunctional smart nanoplatform based on tannic acid-modified gold nanoflowers (TA@AuNFs), integrating nanozyme catalysis for colorimetric sensing and self-assembled nanoarray-assisted LDI-MS analysis.

Sensitive detection of cardiac troponin I (cTnI) is of great significance in the diagnosis of a fatal acute myocardial infarction. A redox-active nanocomposite of copper(II)-tannic acid@Cu (CuTA@Cu) was herein prepared on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode by electrochemical deposition of metallic copper combined with a metal stripping strategy. Then, HAuCl was in situ reduced to gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) by strong reductive catechol groups in the TA ligand.

Fabricating Janus nanoparticle-functionalized fabrics with UV protection, strength enhancement, self-cleaning properties, and wash durability, with a biocompatible nature, is crucial in modern functional fabrics engineering. Particularly, tailoring multifunctional nanoparticles capable of exhibiting several distinct properties, utilizing low-cost raw materials, and adhering to green chemistry principles is pivotal. A fabrication strategy for developing multifunctional reactive Janus nanoparticles, utilizing waste-derived natural polyphenol (quercetin-3-glucuronide, myricetin-3-galactoside, gossypin, phlorizin, kaempferol, myricetin-3-arabinoside)-integrated zinc-silica core-shell Janus nanoparticles with UV protection, strength enhancement, and self-cleaning properties, is proposed.

Developing bifunctional innovative food packaging for maintaining and monitoring food freshness is crucial for food safety. Here, we prepared tannic acid cinnamaldehyde nanoemulsions through self-assembly and ionic cross-linking between the natural emulsifiers tannic acid and cinnamaldehyde, and were incorporated into chitosan as a protective outer layer. Sodium alginate anchored with alizarin was employed as the sensing inner layer.
