Proteic plasmid addiction systems, such as the control of cell death (Ccd), have been used for efficient plasmid DNA recombination. The CcdB toxin, which has a relatively long sequence of 309 bp, has been the predominant choice for this purpose. However, the need for shorter peptide toxins has emerged.

Carbapenem-resistant is defined by the World Health Organization as a "high priority" in developing new antimicrobials. Indeed, the emergence and spread of multidrug-resistant (MDR) or extensively drug-resistant (XDR) bacteria increase the morbidity and mortality risk of infected patients. Genomic variants of that display phenotypes of MDR/XDR have been defined as high-risk global clones.

To investigate the impact of genetic factors on wine aroma, wines made from 22 clones of five grape varieties ( L.) were used to analyze the volatile compounds by headspace solid phase microextraction gas chromatography mass spectrometer (HS-SPME-GC-MS) and headspace gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (HS-GC-IMS). Results showed that 52 and 49 aroma compounds were identified from 22 clones of wines by two technologies, respectively.

Carcinogenesis encompasses processes that lead to increased mutation rates, enhanced cellular division (tumour growth), and invasive growth. Colorectal cancer (CRC) carcinogenesis in carriers of pathogenic APC (path_APC) and pathogenic mismatch repair gene (path_MMR) variants is initiated by a second hit affecting the corresponding wild-type allele. In path_APC carriers, second hits result in the development of multiple adenomas, with CRC typically emerging after an additional 20 years.
